"Eat More Fiber"
Everyone from the engineering staff to our doctor is telling us we need more fiber. On October 17th our meeting will be all about fiber (no, not the kind the doctor recommends). Find out about single mode vs. multi-mode fiber, what type of fiber should you use for different applications, the different light sources (LED vs. laser), building a light budget, CWDM and DWDM, etc. George Wicker of TE Connectivity (formerly ADC) will enlighten us on the basic technology of fiber, and will cover some of the history of fiber, current technology and (most important) its application in today's broadcast workplace, as well as expected future developments.
