Monitoring and Control in the Modern Television Facility
Presented by: Marco Lopez, Senior Vice-President Infrastructure, Monitoring, & Control
Over the past few years television operations have become increasingly complex. With the advent of digital sub-channels almost every station is a multi-channel provider. Broadcast hubs and centralized operations have multiplied the requirements and can result in people running the show from hundreds of miles away. Additionally there are fewer people to perform all of the new tasks associated with the new requirements. In this environment, accurate and time sensitive methods of monitoring and controlling the systems and associated devices are a necessity for professional operations. Mr. Lopez will discuss concerns in providing monitoring and control for modern facilities and address some of the methods that can be employed to provide a useful system. Due to security reasons, please sign up here for access to the Turner campus before Monday, October 12 at noon (unless you have a Turner ID badge).
