Grid Storage - An Advanced Solution for Data Protection

For many years, RAID protection has been the only widely acknowledged source of data protection in use in the broadcast industry. This presentation will feature a brief tutorial on existing RAID technologies, followed by information on a new approach to the data resiliency problem. Known as “Grid Storage”, this technology offers significant improvements in data protection and delivery. Presented by Mr. Paul Turner.

For the last 3 years, Paul Turner has been Vice President of Product Marketing for Omneon Video Networks. Mr. Turner brings with him over 30 years of experience in the broadcasting industry in Europe and the USA, starting his career as an engineer at the BBC in 1980. Since then he has held Engineering and Senior Management positions both in the USA and the U.K at the Grass Valley Group, Abekas Video Systems, Scitex Digital Video, Sony Electronics and, most recently, Pinnacle Systems.
