Avid unveiled the next generation real-time shared storage solution late last year called Unity ISIS (Infinitely Scalable Intelligent Storage). Building on the technology delivered with over 2500 Unity MediaNet systems to date, the technology behind ISIS is truly unique in the media space. Based on RT-RAIN technology (Real-Time Redundant Array of Independent Nodes), ISIS offers a real-time shared storage solution, free of file locking, which delivers high guaranteed bandwidth and is highly resilient to failure - all built on a standard Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure. The presentation will detail this unique approach to shared storage.
The presenter will be Ryad Kahale, Broadcast Account Manager for Avid Broadcast. Ryad has over 20 years of experience supporting and selling solutions to the professional video industry. Previous to Avid Technology, Ryad has worked for Chyron, Niche Video Products, VizRT and Pathfire in service, sales, and sales management roles.

Job Description:
We are in search of an experienced Broadcast Engineer who can repair and maintain studio and transmission equipment with an emphasis on transmitter site facilities. You will assist with the design, documentation and execution of television system projects across various technology disciplines. This person will have primary responsibility for maximizing uptime by performing repairs and preventive maintenance on digital and analog transmission facilities. You will perform periodic measurements and recordkeeping to maintain FCC compliance. Secondary duties will include maintenance and repair of studio broadcast equipment and systems. This position requires 24/7 availability by pager.
This position requires extensive experience with high and low power RF transmitters and related systems. Must have demonstrable skills to troubleshoot and make repairs both accurately and timely. Must be thoroughly familiar with relevant FCC regulations. Factory television transmitter training is highly desired. Minimum of an Associate Degree in Electronics Technology. Minimum 10 years of broadcast television experience. SBE certification a plus. Must be a team player and able to work under pressure.

In Summary:
- Provide broadcast system design and execution of broadcast systems projects integration

Must have demonstrated ability to do high-level conceptual designs and detailed system designs based on customer requirements

Accurate costing and estimating of systems as designed

Meet with project sponsors, leaders, and engineering teams to define scope of work and develop plans

Work with vendors to obtain accurate quotes and explore options for all current technology available to fulfill the needs

The Design Engineer serves as a designer, project leader, and consultant

The Design Engineer must be able to communicate effectively in order to fully understand customer needs and design systems within the budget to fulfill those needs.
