Joe Torcelli Director of Broadcast Operations Quantel, Inc. Joe Torcelli, Director of Broadcast Operations for Quantel, Inc will discuss two related topics in editing in the broadcast environment. He will describe different methods of non-linear editing for SD, HD and mixed SD/HD production, including the architecture of several stand-alone NLE systems. Topics will include compression forms used, how media is handled and interchangeability of progressive and interlaced masters. Torcelli will also discuss the architecture of NLE/Server combinations in the broadcast news industry. Topics covered will include how the low-resolution browser fits into the workflow. He will include a description of how Quantel tackles the handling of both SD and HD in the same configuration at the same time.
