"New and Emerging High Speed File Transfer Workflows for News "

Presented by: Michelle Munson, President & Co-Founder, Aspera, Inc.
File-based workflows offer tremendous promise to transform broadcast news. Internet transfers are joining traditional microwave and satellite trucks. Camera crews can be equipped for file based transfer for a small cost. The millions of PDA's, cell phones, and digital cameras in viewers' hands all become possible news sources. However, fundamental limitations of traditional file transfer technologies fail to meet the speed, predictability, and security demands of our industry. To take full use of this new opportunity a new technology is required.
This presentation will present practical applications ranging from viewer provided video, through local station remote news gathering, up to the needs of major networks. Join us as we look at this sea change in workflow. Please bring a colleague. Note: Prior Security Clearance is required. Please email Zandra Clarke with your name and company affiliation before Monday January 12 at noon to be added to the list.
