"Eat More Fiber"
Everyone from the engineering staff to our doctor is telling us we need more fiber. The January meeting will be all about fiber (not the kind the doctor recommends). George Wicker and Ron Kleclowski (ADC) will enlighten us on the technology of fiber. Ron Kleclowski is the Product Manager for Fiber Optic Products and will cover some of the history of fiber, current fiber technology and its application in today's broadcast workplace, and expected future developments. The presentation will contrast fiber versus copper infrastructure and the associated costs. There will be a demonstration of the new "bendable" fiber that defies the rules of bend radius and a new hybrid fiber connector for cameras that is being submitted to SMPTE for standards approval. Please bring a colleague.

Job Opening: Chief Engineer
WRCB is seeking a self-motivated person for this Dept Head position. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring all FCC rules and regulations are observed and that station is in full technical compliance with them. Position is responsible for operation and maintenance of technical facilities and for ensuring the broadcast plant is technically sound and in good working order. This position prepares and administers engineering department capital and operating budgets. Broadcast station technical department supervisory experience and broad-based operating and maintenance background plus R.F. experience required.
